Recognizing National Indigenous History Month and National Indigenous Peoples Day is significant for all Canadians as they are Treaty Partners. Understanding the sovereign status of First Nations, Metis and Inuit people who collectively are now referred to as Indigenous supports the journey towards reconciliation. Historic inequities and harms continue to be a challenging reality, but this presentation will focus on the beauty and ingenuity of Indigenous People who have contributed much to Canadian society from fashion to food and medicines.
